Use the formula
=COLUMN(INDIRECT(BE16 & "1"))
Place the formula in cell BF16. When you type any column letter into cell BE16, its corresponding column number will automatically appear in BF16 (for example, typing ‘A’ gives you 1, and ‘Z’ gives 26).
- Place the formula in cell BF16.
- Type a column letter into cell BE16.
- Cell BF16 will instantly display that column’s number (e.g., ‘A’ equals 1, and ‘Z’ equals 26).
